Nelson Hardiman Partner Aaron Lachant was appointed to the Los Angeles County Advisory Working Group on Cannabis Regulation (Working Group) which recently held its kickoff meeting. Aaron, who has been a pioneer in the legal marijuana field since 2009, is the only attorney on the Working Group. He was one of two appointments by Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl. Convened by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), the Working Group is charged with developing recommendations for cannabis regulations. Discussions over a 10-week period will include “youth access and exposure, taxation, operational and development standards for cannabis businesses, and personal-use cultivation.”
Aaron’s appointment reflects his continued leadership in the cannabis field. He also represents approximately 45 of the 135 originally legalized dispensaries in Los Angeles under Proposition D – legislation he co-authored.
