That is the crux of an ongoing national debate led by late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and Senator Cassidy. Kimmel’s concern is that infants born with preexisting conditions, like his newborn son who underwent surgery for a heart defect in May, will be covered by health insurance. Cassidy had previously assured Kimmel that he would not support a bill that did not cover preexisting conditions. So, has Cassidy gone back on his word?
